For our fifth year anniversary, we are proud to present the return of Chilean mastermind of latin-minimal, Dandy Jack. Featuring a throbbing premiere custom soundsystem alongside this renowned special guest in a fresh soundproof downtown Toronto venue. An underground jam, proper! Like the way we always do.

HALI, MIKE GIBBS, and FABIO PALERMO

After recently witnessing Dandy Jack completely decimating the Panorama Bar in Berlin this summer, he was instantly our top pick for our upcoming half-decade celebration. So we are excited as ever to host him and celebrate our 5 years together.

Dandy Jack is known for his stunning output with a veritable who’s who of the techno scene. His productions include partners Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Zip, Atom Heart, Mathew Jonson, and so many more. With releases on esteemed labels under his belt, including his own imprint Ruta5, Perlon, Crosstown Rebels, Trigger, Wir and countless others, Dandy Jack is a true underground music artist, visionary and pioneer. He is also known for his critically acclaimed, seminal 90’s minimal work on Atom Heart’s Rather Interesting and the late Pete Namlook’s Fax. Jack has also signed releases on major labels including Jive and Telegraph.

You already know our story. Box of Kittens emerged during a time when events outside the club scene were scarce and uninspired. In late 2007, Box of Kittens exploded onto the scene when four of Toronto’s top DJs got together by almost accident. While building a network of the city’s event producers, we began laying the foundation for the next era of underground Techno events, built out of collaboration and partnership. Over the past 5 years, Box of Kittens helped usher in a new wave of all-night warehouse and loft parties while reigniting the city’s now vibrant underground dance music scene.

Focusing on fresh spaces and great sound in a relaxed friendly environment, Box of Kittens has kept things discreet and underground. We wanted you to discover our parties, and not be oversold to them. We focused on the quality of the music and every little detail. And we always gave back to our members. After an amazing series in Toronto, this year we expanded into German territory, with events already selling out and reaching well over-capacity in Berlin. A true accomplishment within 5 years. We never dreamt we’d be here and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We hope you can join us for this massive milestone night with us on Boxing Day, and we are looking forward to all the big things we have planned for the next 5 years to come.
